Virginia Catholic Conference 2006 GA Scorecard

Check it out here.

You'll notice the absence of a percentage for the notable reason that there are some votes that are "make-or-break" in terms of whether they are acceptable (e.g. state funding of abortions through Medicare).

Definitely worthwhile for Virginia's Catholics to see what their bishops and the VCC focused on during the 2006 session.

You see Art, everyone has to find a way to set themselves apart in high school -- make themselves "different" instead of one of the pack.

For some who went to Arlington Catholic schools, that means embracing the radicalist positions of "the spirit of Vatican II" above truth.

Good news is that James is going to Mary Washington -- so the impluse to not be a part of the pack of Yankee liberals should be enough to bring him back to the realm of common sense. :)

James,
Please tell us ... how can one who disbelieves even the most basic tenets of Catholicism still call himself a Catholic?

Can an athiest who believes in a God still be an athiest?

Can a Mormon who believes that Joseph Smith was a charlatan still be a Mormon?

By disbelieving certain basic moral, theological, and heirarchical tenets of the Catholic Church, you place yourself in direct opposition to it, and in fact, are no longer a member.

Believing the state should pay to bus people to Catholic Schools is a fundamental tenant of Catholic belief??? i must have missed that one...

Way to dodge the issue. You have openly stated that you disagree with the Catholic Church on issues regarding homosexual "marriage", the impossibility of female ordination, and even went so far as to state that you "hate this pope", and yet you chose to pick the issue of whether state money should be used to fund transportation to Catholic schools as a focal point in response to my post about how you really are NOT a Catholic due to your irreconsilable opposition to it's most basic tenets.

This is a classic tactic employed by liberals and amateurs ... Care to try again and answer the question?

Shaun is mourning the loss his kicker brought upon his beloved Redskins last night. It may be a day or so before he has the heart to post again.
