Wednesday, December 20, 2006 Gilmore for President? Believe it. Former Virginia Governor Jim Gilmore is forming an exploratory committee for a 2008 presidential run. Among other accomplishments, Gilmore is a former RNC chairman and former Attorney General of Virginia. Gilmore is more famously known (or infamously known in Democratic circles) as the author of the "No Car Tax" campaign in 1997. UPDATE: DraftGilmore.com isn't all that impressive to the eye (where's the blog, Jim?), but there are several resources there -- including bumper stickers, downloadable PDFs for unit committee meetings and such, and a platform of sorts.
