Romney Wins Wyoming

This, with a New Hampshire win, puts Romney back on top:
The former Massachusetts governor won six of the first eight delegates to be selected. Former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson and California Rep. Duncan Hunter won one apiece, meaning no other candidate could beat Romney. Caucuses were still being held to decide all 12 delegates at stake.

The win was a boost for Romney, coming two days after his loss to Mike Huckabee in the Iowa caucuses and three days before the first-in-the-nation primary in New Hampshire. Those two states have attracted most of the political attention. Wyoming had scheduled its GOP county conventions earlier to attract candidates to the state but had only modest results.
Hunter, Thompson, and Paul all made visits to Wyoming as well, with seemingly little effect.

Shaun,

Does this one count as Romney win between Iowa and Michigan?

Probably not... Wyoming is one of those states that had it's delegate count halved because it wanted to beat out New Hampshire -- though this sure helps.

This will help in the event he comes second place in New Hampshire. He'll still have that tiny bit of steam... even though NH should be a walk for Romney (and it should speak volumes that he can't wrap it up there).

At least there are some real Republicans in Wyoming that support real Republican Candidates... I'm not saying that Romney and Thompson have to re-explain their past voting records, but I am......

You stated under Romney "In my opinion, he absolutely needs a win in between Iowa (which he should have won) and Michigan. Anything less and he's just riding coattails and names."

There were only two possibilities: Wyoming and NH.

I don't think McCain did himself any favors in the debate tonight, but I'm rooting for Fred either way. McCain's smile is like a kid who told a bad joke but still hopes everyone laughs.

He just annoys me, and I really hope he doesn't get the nomination.

(assumes properly-prayerful pose) Dear God, please let the ticket be Romney / Huckahuckahuckabee. Amen.

"Romney / Huckahuckahuckabee."

Yes, I too smell the excitment of Dole/Kemp...

And with no Norm MacDonald to play Bob Dole, we are all DOOMED.
