Vatican criticizes Obama on abortion issue

The Vatican comes out with a strong statement condemning Obama's reversal of the Mexico City Policy:
"This deals a harsh blow not only to us Catholics but to all the people across the world who fight against the slaughter of innocents that is carried out with the abortion," another top official with the Academy for Life, Monsignor Elio Sgreccia, told the ANSA news agency.

"Among the many good things that he could have done, Barack Obama instead chose the worst," he was quoted as saying Saturday.
Indeed.

Good on Barrack Obama for standing up for womens rights. At last America has someone in power who is not going to let religion rule his decisions.A group of old, supposedly celebate men in the vatican should have the least say of all what women around the world do with their own bodies.

Omama's stand on women's rights is the same as Bill Clinton's. His changes are not new at all. Human life is not only the concern of women just because God chose that they would give birth. Those who believe in God cannot pick and choose doctrine that fits their whims. Muslims and Christians agree that abortion is wrong. Abortion is a stench on America and history will prove the death of millions of babies over the past 50 years to be our most horrible legacy. Obama would be far more effective at changing our nation is he cut his ties to planned parenthood. Real change would be a truly compassionate, pro-life democrat with the guts to stand up for human rights.
